Introduction
We built this portable halogen heater for those spots at home where you just need a blast of heat—right now—without rewiring the whole place. It’s a compact radiant heater, designed to give you intense warmth in a tiny footprint.
Technical Deep-Dive
Here’s the core of it: a 2500W output running on a 230V supply. That’s a lot of heat packed into a small package. The tube is 300mm long, so the heat stays focused where you point it. It gets hot fast. Seriously fast. But that also means you need to make sure your outlet and wiring can handle a steady 2.5kW load.
Material & Design
The heating element is a halogen-filled quartz tube. It holds steady even as it ages, and it doesn’t crack when it cycles on and off. Swapping the tube is simple, thanks to the R7s connector. Just line up the pins and seat it—no fiddling. The reflector coating is dichroic, which means it bounces infrared heat forward while letting visible light pass through. That keeps the housing cooler and makes the heat directional.
Application & Benefits
At home, this heater is perfect for warming a specific zone on demand. Think of a chilly workshop corner or a drafty entryway. Because it’s portable, you can move it wherever you need it. And when the tube needs replacing, the R7s setup makes it easy. Just keep in mind: with heat this concentrated, you need clear space around the unit and proper ventilation. That way, you stay warm without the surroundings overheating.
