
Let’s be honest: installing heaters 20 or 30 feet up in the air is a pain. When a unit is that high, you can’t just hop up and swap out a burnt-out element every few months. Nobody wants to spend their Tuesday fighting with a scissor lift just because a lamp quit. That’s why we built our new high-ceiling series. We wanted something that could actually survive the grit of a real industrial shop, especially when things get damp. The problem with water and heat Here is the thing about infrared lamps: they hate water. If a stray droplet hits that scorching hot quartz glass, the tube shocks and cracks. Just like that, your heater is dead. In a humid plant, you’ll see “fogging” on the equipment. Most people think that’s just a visibility issue, but it’s actually a warning sign. It means condensation is forming right where it shouldn’t. To stop this, we wrapped the internals in a sealed housing with gaskets that keep the moisture far away from the heating element. Keeping the grime out We also ditched the old open-frame designs. They just don’t work in the real world. With a splash-proof chassis, airborne oils and water spray can’t get inside to coat the reflectors. This is huge, because once those reflectors get cloudy or spotted with grime, you lose your heat throw. You’re paying for power, but your team isn’t feeling the warmth. By keeping the insides dry, the electrical connections stay clean and the lamps don’t short out when someone is hosing down the facility. A quick heads-up on setup Because these units are sealed so tight, they’re a bit more particular about how they’re installed. You’ll need to follow the mounting sequence closely to make sure those gaskets seat properly. If the housing bolts aren’t tightened to the right spec, the moisture barrier won’t work. It takes an extra minute during install, but it saves you hours of headaches later. We’ve seen these units thrive in warehouses where standard heaters usually die in a single season.
